I notice that the Reflector program does not recommend compressing to a monolithic archive. The warning states that non-separated backups will always be converted to full backups.
With Cobian Reflector, I tried doing a full backup with the "Compress files individually" option with a full compression level. The size-on-disk for the compressing was 22,226,391,040 bytes.
With Cobian Backup, the size-on-disk for the last full backup to a single 7z file was 20,779,593,728 bytes.
Nothing changed in the directory between backups. This is a difference of 1,446,797,312 bytes. Too much wasted space when using individual files.
Will Reflector ever fully support incremental backups to a single 7z file?
For now, I will remain with Cobian Backup.
