First, this: I did look for installation problems by using your search bar before I created this post, and nothing comes up in results. I used several terms too, not just INSTALLATION.
I've tried to install Cobian Reflector 11four times.
THE PROBLEM IS HERE: Cobian does install the program, but it warns me that it failed to record my user name or password.
What does this mean? It means I might not be able to use my own backup!
I run a Windows 11 64-bit Home Version computer.
All Microsoft updates are installed.
I turned my VPN off.
During installation, I did not see any messages that the installation had been blocked. There was no apparent problem during the installations, but at the very end of the installation, I always get the same message from Cobian:
"ERR Couldn't give the user (Deleted here for security purposes) the privilege to log in as a service: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done
Installing the main service...
ERR Couldn't install the main service: The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified
Starting the user interface...
ERR Errors found: 2. Please consult the installation log!"
After this happened four times,
1) I completely uninstalled Cobian, even in my C Drive programs.
2) I went through an orderly shutdown.
3) I waited for five minutes before I powered up my computer.
4) I reinstalled Cobian Reflector 11. Same thing happened four times.
